Sensitivity can arise from several dental causes. A short response and prolonged pain are different patterns, but neither can be diagnosed accurately from a webpage.
What to pay attention to
- How long does the sensation last? — Tell the dentist whether it stops quickly or lingers.
- Is one tooth involved? — Localized sensitivity can be useful information.
- Is there spontaneous pain? — Pain without a trigger is important to mention.
