Pain with pressure can occur with cracks, decay, inflammation around a tooth or other dental problems. A dentist needs to examine the tooth to identify the cause.
What to pay attention to
- Is the pain sharp, dull or throbbing? — Note whether it occurs only when biting or also at rest.
- Did it start after an injury or dental work? — Timing can help the dentist understand the context.
- Is there swelling or fever? — These symptoms increase the importance of prompt evaluation.
