Adult teeth are not normally mobile like primary teeth. Trauma, periodontal problems and other causes may lead to looseness, so professional evaluation matters.
What to pay attention to
- Avoid repeatedly testing it — Do not keep pushing or wiggling the tooth.
- Describe any trauma — Tell the dentist if looseness followed a fall, collision or bite injury.
- Mention bite changes — A tooth that feels displaced or changes the bite may be more urgent.
